Poem is a Mac app that turns Claude Code and Codex into chats, with an optional iPhone app. It’s made by Poem Labs. The short version: Poem has no accounts, doesn’t track you, and keeps your chats on your Mac.
These requests carry your IP address, like any web request, and nothing else about you beyond what each one says above.
None of them get your chats from Poem.
Questions or requests about your information go to support@poem.chat.
Poem turns Claude Code and Codex into chats on your Mac.
The bars under each chat show how much of your 5-hour and weekly limits you’ve used. When one runs out, the chat shows when it resets and offers to keep going with the other agent (Codex from a Claude chat, Claude from a Codex chat), or to get more usage from your plan’s page. Poem never moves you onto a pay-per-use API key by itself.
Poem checks for updates on its own, downloads them in the background, and installs them when you quit. You can turn that off in Settings › General › Updates. Poem has to be in your Applications folder to update: if you opened it from Downloads or from the disk image, quit it, drag it into Applications and open it from there. When a newer Claude Code or Codex is out, a button shows up in the sidebar.
In Poem: Settings › General › Manage Subscription… Choose Keep Pro until the end of the time you paid for, and nothing more is charged; or End now and get the days you didn’t use back, refunded at once. Cancel during the free trial and you pay nothing. We email you to confirm it.
Not at your Mac? At poem.chat/manage, in any browser, sign in with the email you paid with and cancel there; Pro stays on until the end of the time you paid for. For the days you didn’t use, email support@poem.chat.
Pro on more than one Mac? Use Manage Subscription… in Poem on the Mac you want to change. Refunds are in the Refund Policy.
Poem for iPhone runs in Safari, or from your Home Screen. Pairing is a one-time setup: on your Mac, open Poem and click the antenna, then open poem.chat/mobile on your iPhone. On the same Wi-Fi as your Mac, your iPhone finds it right away. After that it works anywhere, on Wi-Fi or cellular, while your Mac is awake with Poem open.
If your Mac is on your iPhone’s hotspot, pair with the code or the QR code in the antenna.
Uninstalling doesn’t cancel Pro, so cancel first if you have it. Then quit Poem and drag it to the Trash. To remove its data too, delete these:
~/Library/Application Support/Poem (chats and extra sign-ins)~/Library/Logs/Poem~/Library/Caches/chat.poem.app~/Library/Preferences/chat.poem.app.plistClaude Code and Codex keep their own history in ~/.claude and ~/.codex. Poem leaves those alone.
No. Poem is an independent app by Poem Labs. It runs the unmodified Claude Code and Codex with your own sign-in. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic. Codex and ChatGPT are trademarks of OpenAI.
